George Washington (who Congress wanted to appoint King so AKA “King George”) owned slaves and was a Southerner, isn’t it time we remove him from all currency, reference in government documents and history along with the Confederate Battle Flag or Northern Virgina? Seriously folks, history is history whether it is good or bad. Are we to burn down the libraries of Alexander to feel good about ourselves or to be politically correct? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Destruction_of_the_Library_of_Alexandria
So we want to destroy hate in this country. Remove and forget the Confederate Battle Flag? Rename every street and city that might or bears a name of a Confederate General or Politician? Twelve of our presidents owned slaves and eight of them owned slaves while serving as president.
Do we get rid of them too? Why not burn every book that depicts history altogether of anything that even mentions slavery? Let’s totally forget that over a hundred thousand or so captured Irish prisoners of war were sold and shipped here to the Americas as indentured servants against their will by the British Crown, that I mean really, the Irish were slaves and so I have no love loss for the British when the IRA strikes. When does the denial of history and remembrance end?
They don’t even teach history in school anymore. I have to teach my child myself what is historically correct. They don’t even teach them basic history.
I can see this country losing it’s national identity and falling for anything.
You have to stand for something or fall for anything. Guess we are choosing the later.
